Early Evening Harbourside Walk
Friday 1st October, 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
To make the most of the weekend why not arrive on Friday and join us for an early Friday evening walk around Bristol harbour to meet other festival walkers and see a bit of the city.
Once a busy dock where sailors and merchants would trade goods and set sail for voyages of discovery, Bristol’s Harbourside has been transformed from its somewhat notorious past to an attractive, modern area with waterside restaurants, bars and museums.
We’ll meet at 5pm in Millennium Square and walk round the floating harbour, passing bars and cafes, watching the activity on the water and taking in some of what Bristol’s best know for, including a Banksy, Brunel’s SS Great Britain and the city’s current reckoning with its grim slave-trading past.
The route is roughly 3 miles and we’ll finish at a pub (there are many to choose from!). If you’re a Nordic walker, we suggest you leave your poles behind.
Distance: 3 miles
Duration: 5-6.30 pm
Meet: The Amphitheatre, Millennium Square, Bristol, BS1 5LL
