Clevedon: Coast, Woodlands, Town and History
Saturday 2nd October, 10:15 am - 2:15 pm
Your path will first join the coastal path, passing sheltered bays and rockpools and snaking below the canopy of trees sculpted by onshore winds. It then ascends steeply to meadows, Clevedon Golf Course and shady woodlands. Expect wildflowers, fields and fine country houses before a small wooden gate leads you into the churchyard of St Paul’s, Walton in Gordano. Described as “a small church with a big heart” the church evokes times gone by and is a real treat to explore.
Your route continues along a quiet country land before a short sharp ascent through the slopes of Norton’s Wood. Here you pick up the Gordano Round trail and follow this as it winds through Clevedon skirting Strawberry Hill and Dial Hill before finishing back at Clevedon Pier.
Please bring your own snacks plus water. Café refreshments not included. There are public toilets at the start and the end of the walk.
Distance: 6 miles
Time: 9:30 – 11:30am
Start and finish point: Clevedon Pier
